Mazur Manor: Hold UP the Fort, continued

Mole Man is at it again!
For the past several months he has been transforming his walls of clay into a mighty stone fortress! Spring 2019 has brought in some heavy storms, and the Lord’s been testing Austin’s handiwork on the french drain, new walls, and additional sump pump he installed. So far, all the water has been mitigated by one (or a combination of…) the three!
Rather than coming up covered in mud, Austin ascends from the dungeon covered by varying densities of concrete, mortar, dirt… whatever all that crud is.
I JUST KNOW HE IS DIRTY!
The phase of the project he’s just completed was by far the most challenging to his body. Carrying large stones, heavy bags of mortar, and buckets of gravel and water… UP. Then DOWN. Then UP. Then DOWN. And so on…
Though the wall is built, there is more to come.
More concrete. More cross beams.

Our goal: engineer a structure that helps to support the floor more securely and holds back earth during rainy seasons, thereby solidifying this 110 year old home’s structure for years to come! Not to mention, having a paved in section of the basement will give homeowners easy access to plumbing, heating, cooling, and more, should access become necessary. The next owner of this home can rest easy, knowing that any water that enters this home won’t stay for long (also knowing they could turn their basement into a wine cellar, HA)!
Will keep you posted as this project progresses.
Keep Austin in your prayers as his body undergoes the inevitable stress
this type of work inflicts!
